Mindful Movement and Creative Connection in Nature
Women's Retreat with Jackie Jones and Ruth Gibson
Fri 6th - Sun 8th Sept 2024
This retreat is now fully booked. If you would like your name added to the waiting list just email us
Jackie and Ruth are great friends who love an outdoor adventure. A shared love for wild swimming, camping, creativity and mindful movement has lead us to dream up a weekend combining all of our favourite things….
And we would love you to join us.
As creative collaborators, we are excited to interweave our individual expertise with a light touch and playful approach. The focus will be on having fun together!
Together we will make artworks from our immediate environment. Clay is a fantastic material, easily accessible, expressive, tactile and calming. Mindful meditation and movement practices will help you to reconnect to the natural environment. A relaxed body and mind enables your creativity to flow unimpeded by your inner critic.
Our aim is to be completely inclusive. No experience of yoga, meditation or art is needed. You will be sensitively guided by two experienced teachers to move and create with a sense of playfulness. Through deep connection with both yourself and the natural world our wish is for you to take home a feeling of fullness and vibrancy that will sustain you in your busy lives.
Ruth is a master craftsperson, artist, and teacher with 25 years’ experience of working with clay.
She has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad; her unique ceramics combine a love of photography, printmaking, and glazes; to create artworks and sculptures that evoke a sense of place.
She has delivered many Community Arts and Sculpture projects over 20 years, inspiring people of all ages to get creative with clay.
Ruth has a real passion for working outdoors, engaging people in the landscape. She is an inspiring teacher with a gentle, calm and caring approach.

Jackie is an exceptionally experienced retreat leader and teacher. From month long meditation retreats in the Himalayas to over 3 decades of study in yoga and somatic therapy, she has guided hundreds of students back to their own intuitive nature.
After making a living as an artist for several years, she is passionate in exploring the intersection between inner connection and outer flow of creativity into movement or form.
She is particularly experienced at working with diverse groups new to inner practices and through a big dose of humour and playfulness loves to create a safe space to explore these themes.

We will be camping in an idyllic wildflower meadow in a secluded valley in Dolanog, near Welshpool. A river runs through the campsite where you are welcome to take a dip (optional!). The campsite has excellent facilities, rain showers, loos and a Mediterranian style camp kitchen; although all of your meals will be provided. Immersed in nature in this way, we can experience it as a resource to sustain and nurture, as well as to inspire us.
