Sept 18th Intuitive Yoga: Connection to the Inner Teacher You will be guided to move beyond posture sequences into the realm of creative flow. From the stillness of connection arises your intuitive impulse to move and breath in a way that eases your body from discomfort into a state of fluidity and grace; leading to a place where your yoga practice becomes a spontaneous dance with the pulse of life. Expect full bodied acceptance, no judgement, lots of laughter and a release into the joy that only playful movement can bring! Nov 6th Yoga and Sound: The Breath Made Manifest Everything in the universe has an energetic vibration including the atoms, cells and organs of our body. In the new science of quantum biology scientists have discovered systems as diverse as our immune system to our sense of smell that use simple vibrational patterns to communicate information. We know that hearing music can affect our mood and that singing can lift our spirits. In this workshop we will be exploring the yogic arts of mantra, toning and breathwork to help bring our energy systems back into balance. You will discover your own resonant tone and develop a personal practice to help you to develop full power in your voice. You will learn deep listening skills, essential breathing exercises, and the principles of sacred sound, chanting and mantra. Dec 4th Yoga Nidra: The Art of Deep Rest At this busy time of year, we'll take the opportunity to press the pause button to find stillness and deep rest. Gentle mindful movement led by the conscious breath will begin the process of melting tension in your muscles preparing you to dive deeply into the restorative stillness of Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep. For the curious, we'll also discuss the whats, whys and hows of this ancient practice and you'll leave with a couple of recordings to use again and again at home whenever you want to recapture the feeling.
